Frequently asked questions

Can you remove a felony conviction from my record?

We don't "erase" convictions. Many states offer legal relief such as expungement, sealing, certificates of rehabilitation, or pardons—each with specific eligibility rules and timelines. We screen your eligibility and, if appropriate, connect you with licensed attorneys who handle the legal filings. Outcomes vary and are not guaranteed.

Can you remove an eviction from my record?

We can dispute inaccurate or outdated tenant screening data and help update records after a case is dismissed or satisfied. Some states allow court record sealing for certain eviction matters. Accurate, verifiable public records generally cannot be removed unless your state provides lawful relief.

How does rent reporting work if I have no rental history?

We help set up reporting of your on-time rent to major credit bureaus (where eligible). We can also add past rent history with documentation. Not all landlords or bureaus accept all programs; we'll set up the best fit and pair it with a rental résumé and reference kit.

Is this legal? Is it credit repair?

Yes—we follow federal and state laws including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA). We dispute only inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unverifiable information, and we never promise results.

How long does this take?

FCRA disputes are typically 30–45 days per round. Record relief (expungement/sealing) can take 3–12 months depending on your state and case. Rent reporting setup can be as quick as 1–2 weeks.

Do you offer refunds?

You may cancel within three business days of signing any paid agreement for a full refund. After work begins, refunds depend on work completed to date. We'll outline this clearly in writing.

Evictions & Tenant Screening

What landlords actually see

  • Landlords pull tenant screening reports (CoreLogic, SafeRent, Yardi, First Advantage).
  • These reports ingest court data, credit data, and past landlord records.
  • Even dismissed filings can show up unless corrected.
Tip: Provide proof of dismissal/satisfaction and ask screening companies to update their files.

Disputing inaccurate or outdated records (FCRA)

  1. Get copies of your tenant screening & credit reports.
  2. List each inaccurate/outdated item with supporting evidence.
  3. Send written disputes to the screening company & bureaus.
  4. Track responses (30 days typical) and request corrections.
Escalate with CFPB or state AG if vendors fail to correct clear errors.

Record Relief 101

Expungement vs. Sealing vs. Pardons

  • Expungement: Court orders destruction or removal from public access.
  • Sealing: Record hidden from most checks but may remain viewable to courts/law enforcement.
  • Pardon/Certificates: Forgiveness or proof of rehabilitation; may restore rights.
Relief type depends on offense level, time since completion, and state statutes.

Eligibility factors

  • Disposition (dismissed, deferred, conviction).
  • Waiting period after completion of sentence.
  • Number of prior cases and severity.
  • Outstanding fines or restitution.
We screen your state’s rules and prepare you for attorney review.

Build Your Rental Profile

Rent reporting for first-time renters

  • We set up monthly rent reporting to bureaus that accept it.
  • Backdate up to 12 months of on-time payments when documentation allows.
  • Pair reporting with a Rental Résumé and Letter of Explanation.
Backdating gives a fast credibility boost—gather bank statements or ledger to verify past payments.

Alternative data & approvals kit

  • Use utility/phone payment history when rent data is thin.
  • Create a reference kit (employer, mentor, prior roommate/RA).
  • Co-signer/guarantor and deposit alternatives where needed.
We coach you on talking points for landlords and provide a ready-to-send PDF kit.
